If the definition of a great film is three greats scenes and no bad ones, then Christopher Nolan’s filmography being (at least) five great films and no bad ones must put him in the conversation as one of the best filmmakers of our time, if not all time. He has produced a dozen films since 1998, and his much anticipated 13th film — The Odyssey — arrives this Friday (July 17) and already has extremely positive buzz from those who have seen it.
With Homer’s epic on the horizon, let’s take a look back at his filmography, ranked from least to most favourite. Keep in mind even a lower tier Nolan film is a solid film — truly, no bad Nolan film exists, just ones that resonate more than others for each of us.
